Free Standing

This sculpture was on display in 2011 at the annual Philadelphia Center for Architecture: Art by Architects exhibition.  The design was based on emphasizing the removal of a defunct steel fence post that was on the perimeter of a garden.  Removing the post revealed that a poured concrete footing mass was still intact.  This opportunity became the ballast for the now freestanding sculptural arm.  With a bit of CNC plasma cutting, 24 gauge black steel took flight.
